Ux Website Design

UX Website Design

UX website design focuses on the user experience rather than visual appeal or the designers’ biases. A modern, clean layout with an easy-to-follow navigation structure is the norm today.

UX Website Development

Your website is likely the first impression you will make with potential customers. You have just a few seconds to capture their attention, or they click the back button and move on.

Website visitors are seeking information on how to solve their problem at hand. They want to find answers quickly and easily. If your website delivers those answers, you are likely to get a new paying customer.

This is why UX Design and Research is crucial for your success. The research will tell what customers expect from your website and the design will lay the information out in a clear and concise way.

It’s really that simple, ask your customers what they want and expect to find on your website and give it to them.

Simplicity is key!

Simple websites don’t require our eyes and brain to work as hard to decode, store, and process information. Our brains prefer to think about things that are easy to think about.

Your website visitors spend a lot of time on popular websites that follow UX website design principles ie: Google, Facebook, YouTube, Amazon et al. Right or wrong this sets the bar on their expectations on every website they visit. They prefer visiting sites where they instinctively know where everything is and the actions they are supposed to take.

Follow the science (and the law)

Along with basic SEO principles, page structure and navigation there are scientific and psychological factors that come into play when designing a website. Your color scheme, font style and size, backgrounds, and the golden ratio/law of proportion all must be considered in your website design.

Following these principles will also help to keep you compliant with the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). Did you know your website must follow ADA guidelines?

Speed kills!

Or should I say lack of speed kills! Another benefit of simple website design is page loading speed. It's been proven the faster a page loads the better the conversions. Your website visitors and Google prefer faster pages over slow loading pages. Simple websites load fast.

The "I have a guy" syndrome

Let's face it, almost anyone can build a beautiful website today. You probably have a well-meaning associate, friend or family member that dabbles with websites on the side.

I call this the "I have a guy" syndrome. I've heard this countless times over the years. To be honest they can probably build you a beautiful website. However, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

In my mind a beautiful website is one that converts visitors into paying customers. I could care less about winning awards for creating fancy designs.

Unfortunately, most website designers do not know much about direct sales and marketing; their focus is on design. If you’re not careful you could end up with a beautiful award-winning website with no conversions or sales.

No matter who you use to build your website make sure someone on the team understands direct response marketing or your site will be dead in the water.

All of your design questions will be answered in the UX research and usability study phases. o
